You provide account and profile information (email, name, handle, bio, interests, and avatar choices), optional home location, and club content (memberships, meetup plans, RSVPs, polls, submissions, posts, reactions, reviews, predictions, reports, blocks, and friendships). Cloob also receives authentication and app-security identifiers, push notification tokens when notifications are enabled, and basic device/network information needed by Firebase and Apple to deliver and protect the service.
Required data is used to authenticate you, show your chosen profile to other users, operate and personalize clubs, suggest relevant or nearby clubs, deliver requested notifications, prevent fraud and unauthorized access, moderate reports and abuse, provide support, and complete account deletion. Cloob does not sell personal information and does not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
During account creation, Cloob asks whether you want to share anonymous product-usage events and crash diagnostics through Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. Neither service collects until you choose Allow. Cloob does not attach your account ID to this telemetry. Choosing Not now does not limit the app. You can allow or withdraw permission at any time in Profile → Privacy Settings; the change applies immediately on that device.
Profile avatars are generated from in-app choices rather than uploaded photos. Home location is optional and is used to suggest clubs near you. Cloob does not require precise background location.
Club content may be visible to other members of that club. Public reviews or public profile information may be visible to other Cloob users depending on the feature.
Google Firebase processes data for Cloob through Authentication (sign-in), Firestore (account and club storage), Cloud Functions (secure backend operations), Cloud Messaging (push delivery), App Check (app/device attestation), and—only if you allow them—Analytics and Crashlytics. Apple processes Sign in with Apple, APNs push delivery, App Attest, Maps/place search, and operating-system permissions. These providers act under their own privacy terms and contractual or legal safeguards. Cloob requires providers handling Cloob data to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law.
Account, profile, relationship, and club data is retained while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, Cloob's server removes your profile, identifiers, messaging tokens, memberships, relationships, reports, and authored user content, and revokes Sign in with Apple where applicable. A server-only security marker containing the deleted Firebase account identifier is kept for approximately two hours (and normally purged within three) solely to stop an already signed-in device from restoring deleted data; it cannot be used through the app. Provider backups, security logs, and transient delivery records may persist only for their normal rotation periods or where law requires retention; they are isolated from normal app use and deleted or anonymized under provider schedules.
You can edit your profile, remove optional profile information, change analytics/diagnostics permission in Profile → Privacy Settings, control location and notification access in iOS Settings, block users, report content, and permanently delete your account in Edit Profile. Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion help where applicable.
